Dr. Rashad Richey brings attention to an attack on a local civil rights activist by local police.
Activist and Founder of Save OurSelves (SOS) Marcus Coleman, came on The Rashad Richey Morning Show to discuss what he calls a harrowing attack from a City of South Fulton police officer. Joined by Marcus Coleman is Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump.
Attorney Crump tells Rashad it's heartbreaking to see police attacking an innocent member of the community. Coleman shares that he truly believed the officer could have taken his life. In the video released by Mr. Coleman view video here:
Coleman sees a traffic accident and inquires why the officer is not assisting in directing drivers. The video shows the officer roll his window up after the question and later aggressively approach Mr. Coleman.
In the final interaction, the officer seemingly attempts to knock Coleman's phone out of his hand and holds a taser to his chest according to Coleman. Mr. Coleman states he was illegally detained, but released from the squad car within 3 minutes of a supervising officer responding.
The officer is under investigation and on administrative assignment.
