GA Democratic State Representative Vernon Jones shocked his constituents when he publicly endorsed Republican President Donald Trump. Jones represents State House District 91, which is overwhelmingly Democratic and African-American. Representative Jones announced he would resign from public office on the same day he interviewed with Dr. Rashad Richey on The Rashad Richey Morning Show. Jones rescinded his resignation the next day.

In a strange twist, Rhonda Taylor, Jones' political opponent came on The Rashad Richey Morning Show and revealed that she recently received notice from the Georgia Secretary of State that Vernon Jones has withdrawn from the race. Ms. Taylor also explained that Representative Jones will still have his name on the ballot, but a vote for him will not count. Ms. Taylor says she will represent the District moving forward and is preparing for the transition.
