This week, OPWJS welcomed special guest, Major K.D. Johnson, Chief of Staff for the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, and Deputies D'Angelo Thomas and Peyton Wells for a special broadcast on The Effects of Policing on Law Enforcement.

This engaging show covered everything from officer training to officer morale to community engagement. Major Johnson highlighted how the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office strives to be a model for other law enforcement agencies by focusing on monitoring their officers, particularly their body cam video.

Johnson believes this oversight as well community engagement are important to their success. When asked about the likelihood of former Officer Kim Potter mistaking her gun for a taser resulting in the death of 20 year-old, Daunte Wright this week, neither Deputy Thomas or Deputy Wells could reasonably understand this error because of the amount of training involved to avoid this error.
