Georgia State Representative Park Cannon, Civil Rights Attorney Gerald Griggs and Dr. Rashad Richey discuss Governor Brian Kemp signing SB202 in secrecy.

Outspoken Georgia State Representative Park Cannon, who is the youngest lawmaker in the Georgia General Assembly, joined The Rashad Richey Morning Show to discuss being wrongfully arrested and charged with two felonies after knocking on the door of Governor Brian Kemp's office during the signing of Senate Bill 202. Attorney Gerald Griggs, a well-known civil rights litigator, is representing Cannon and said the arrest was unlawful.

Representative Cannon was attempting to be present for the signing of GA Senate Bill 202 which creates unprecedented voter restrictions for GA citizens. Many are calling this bill the new Jim Crow. Senate Bill 202 limits early voting, allows the State to take over county elections, makes it a crime to give someone food or water while waiting in line to vote among other controversial elements of the bill. Even some Republicans are saying the bill goes too far.

Representative Cannon said the Governor should not be afforded privacy to block lawmakers from being present during the signing of bills into law.

Cannon sustained injuries during the arrest and has been released on bond. Countless supporters, including newly elected US Senator Raphael Warnock came to the jail and encouraged Georgians to "keep knocking".
