Dr. Oz from The Dr. Oz Show, came on The Rashad Richey Morning Show to discuss being picked up for two more seasons, coronavirus updates and implicit bias in the medical field.

Dr. Oz shared with Rashad that in the medical field, research has proven there is an implicit bias against the Black community perpetuated by White doctors. This bias leads to unnecessary surgeries and even premature deaths.

When it comes to health and wellness, Dr. Oz said research now shows that African-American patients do better under the care of an African-American physician as opposed to a White physician. For this reason, Dr. Oz is promoting the #MoreBlackDoctors campaign to help close the gap in health care disparities.
