Dream, goals, reality ... Oh my

What is the difference between dreams and goals, and more importantly how do we turn these into reality? Dreams are a sensation, this feeling or a vision we see ourselves in. For example my dream is to host a nationally syndicated radio morning show. What am I doing to make this a reality? Creating short term and long term goals. Once I finally decided what I "wanted to do" with my life I realized I can't let time sit idly and wait for something or someone to find me. I sat down and created my goals, both long term and short term goals. Turning goals into a reality is hard, keep reading to see how I started turning my goals into reality.

Goals becoming a Reality

I have so many stories about the false starts I've had trying to create my new reality. Some of it was my fault because I wasn't specific in my vision or that I didn't know any better, and some of it was at the mercy and fault of others. It is so disheartening when you are making a goal a reality and you keep running in circles trying to find the door.

It's just like an episode of The Twilight Zone. You are putting your plan in action for creating your goals and nothing you do seems to get you any closer to a solution ... or worse it's a false start. Regardless of your dreams there are companies, and people who are out there who will give you this sense of wanting to help you learn and promote your education and dreams, but it's a scam that pigeon hole's you into the complete opposite, often times making you feel like you are at square -28 instead of square one. It's during those points in time you need to take a deep breath and say while this may not be what I wanted to do, look at the new skills or lessons I have learned in making my dreams a reality.

So how do you really make your goals real

When turning your goals into something real:

  • Start by organizing your goal into objectives.

  • Once you have decided what your objectives are you can create a to-do list of how to complete the objectives.

  • Keep track of your goal and objectives.

Completing goals can feel impossible, and this forever long process, but the reality is when you write down what the goal is, and how you are planning on achieving it; your new reality is a lot closer than you think. So you might be thinking, "I've heard this all before, and it doesn't work for me." or "yeah yeah typical wannbe inspirational blogger." but the truth is this stuff only works when your attitude works. I've been there: the frustrated dreamer trying to create a new reality, or waiting for a sign that I am not completely wasting my time. It's scary and it's hard, but don't give up and don't lose sight of your dream.

Reality

Some dreams and goals can take a long time to complete, but with the right attitude and these tips a new reality is just a few steps away
