BrickCon Atlanta, a major LEGO convention, has expanded to over 50,000 square feet, featuring interactive STEM activities, LEGO Masters, and unique exhibits like a giant cyberpunk city. Founded by Nick Ferguson, it celebrates the art and education of LEGO, drawing enthusiasts from around the globe.

Atlanta, GA - The vibrant city of Atlanta is once again hosting BrickCon, a convention that has rapidly become a cornerstone event for LEGO enthusiasts across the nation. With an impressive expansion from 20,000 to over 50,000 square feet, Atlanta BrickCon is setting new benchmarks for creativity, innovation, and community engagement in the world of LEGO.

Founded by Nick Ferguson, a fervent LEGO aficionado and visionary, BrickCon has transformed from a modest charity event in 2014 into one of the largest LEGO conventions in the United States. This year, the event promises an array of new and exciting activities, drawing in fans from Toronto to Europe and beyond.

A Hub of Creativity and Innovation

Central to this year's convention is the introduction of interactive activities designed to captivate and educate attendees of all ages. Highlighting the roster are the LEGO Masters from the hit TV show, who will be hosting a STEM Zone exclusively for BrickCon. This initiative, spearheaded by alumni from seasons 1 and 3, aims to fuse entertainment with education, providing a unique learning experience for children.

Adding to the excitement, Dan Steiner, one of the elite eight LEGO Master Builders globally, will grace the event. Steiner is set to lead a "strongest bridge competition," challenging young minds to think critically and apply engineering principles in a fun, competitive environment.

Beyond the Blocks

However, Atlanta BrickCon is not just about the bricks; it's a celebration of artistry and imagination. This year's event features over 200 artists and exhibits from around the world, showcasing an astounding array of LEGO art and constructions. Among the notable attractions is a sprawling, collaboratively built cyberpunk city. Initiated four years ago by a single visionary, this project has evolved into a monumental display of creativity, involving over 40 contributors to create a 12-foot tall, illuminated metropolis.

Nick Ferguson's journey from a passionate builder to the founder of BrickCon underscores the event's ethos: LEGO is more than a toy; it's a medium for artistic expression and a tool for educational development. This philosophy is further exemplified by the inclusion of adult-friendly LEGO sets, like the sophisticated bouquets and intricate Star Wars collectors' editions, which cater to a broader audience and celebrate the timeless appeal of LEGO.

A Community Effort

Preparation for such an expansive event is no small feat. Contrary to what some might assume, the process involves meticulous planning and collaboration rather than simply gluing pieces together. Artists and builders leverage their skills in drawing and design to bring their intricate visions to life, emphasizing the importance of creativity and precision in the world of LEGO building.

Location and Legacy

Situated away from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta traffic, Atlanta BrickCon offers a welcoming space for families, hobbyists, and curious onlookers to explore the limitless possibilities of LEGO. As the convention continues to grow, it remains a testament to the enduring appeal of LEGO and its ability to inspire, educate, and bring people together.

BrickCon Atlanta is more than just a convention; it's a vibrant community of dreamers, builders, and creators. As attendees look forward to the event, they're not just anticipating a weekend of fun; they're stepping into a world where imagination knows no bounds.
