Food Delivery Ordinance In City Of Atlanta

Atlanta Councilmen Antonio Brown and Amir Farokhi are spearheading an ordinance to prevent delivery drivers from tampering with food items.

Councilman Brown came on The Rashad Richey Morning Show to highlight the importance of the legislation and why it's important to residents.

According to Business Insider, 28% of food delivery drivers admit to taking food from orders. Over 50% of drivers are tempted.

The ordinance, if passed, will require food establishments to "seal" and time stamp food orders to ensure safety and freshness.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, food delivery has skyrocketed. The Georgia Restaurant Association is partnering to help pass the ordinance.
