October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Atlanta is going pink to celebrate Breast Cancer Warriors.
According to the CDC about around 240,000 cases of breast cancer get reported in women and more than 2,000 cases for men. Of those number 42,000 women and around 500 men die of breast cancer every year. Atlanta is doing its part in going pink and here’s how you can join in on the fight. Join MoonJoggers for their 9th annual virtual race. The race is dedicated to honoring the Survivors and Angels of Breast Cancer and the strength, resilience and life of those affected by Breast Cancer. 15% of every registration will go to breast cancer research. 2023 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer hosted by It’s the Journey INC
Saturday, October 7th 7:00 a..m. - October 8th 12:00 p.m.
The Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is a yearly fundraising event and endurance walk that takes place on October 7-8, 2023, participants walk 30 miles around Atlanta over the course of 2 days. The money raised from the walk is able to serve more than 100 counties in Georgia. Programs include mammograms, clinical breast exams, genetic counseling and testing, biopsies, support services, education, and much more. Much of the funding specifically focuses on under-served individuals in our community, those who are uninsured and under-insured. Union City's 10th Annual Pinktober 5K Run & Walk

In a bright sea of unity, Union City is getting up for its 10th Annual Pinktober Breast Cancer Awareness 5K. This year's event will be a memorable
milestone to celebrate a decade of support for breast cancer survivors, patients, and their families. The Pinktober Breast Cancer Awareness 5K will become a Color Run. Participants will be painted in a vibrant array of hues, symbolizing the many shades of courage and strength displayed by those battling breast cancer. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun-filled day with friends and family, the Pinktober 5K Color Run is an event for everyone to enjoy. It's a unique blend of fitness, camaraderie, and, most importantly, spreading hope. Light Warm-Up Workout: We're kicking off this year's festivities with a refreshing warm-up session to get your energy flowing and your spirits high. Event Host Michelle Williams shares that she is most excited for this year, because not only is she participating for her 6th year in a row, but she recently rang the bell in August completing her fight against cancer. She said the whole journey was humbling receiving love and support from the community including friends, family and caregivers.

Ioata Zeta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority INC partnered with Dekalb Preparatory Academy, will host a mother daughter tea honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
